With a deep interest in all aspects of health and well being, Anita Norton’s comprehensive background has prepared her well to help you meet life’s challenges.
An insatiable learner, after graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Philosophy, Anita gained experience in the business world and traveled extensively. While exploring career options, she became particularly interested in health, individual process, and interpersonal relationships. While pursuing academic education, she continually sought out new opportunities to increase her own self-awareness and understand others. This practice of life-long learning fuels her curiosity, broadens her knowledge and skills, and enhances her ability to effectively connect with clients.
Initially, Anita's work focused on physical health and fitness. She became certified as a personal trainer, specializing in medical exercise, as a lifestyle consultant, and as a wellness coach. Over time, she realized a deeper interest in the mental, emotional, and spiritual elements of health.
In 2005, reflecting her transition to the focus of her current practice, Anita obtained a master's degree in Systems Counseling/Applied Behavioral Science. In 2006, she was asked to be a program facilitator for a project developed jointly by the YMCA and Stanford Prevention Research Center. In 2010, she became an Affiliate Counselor with the American Philosophical Practitioners Association.
Currently, Anita is exploring her options for pursuing a PhD in Mind-Body Medicine. Her many years of experience and training enrich her ability to work with clients in meeting life challenges and support them in taking personal responsibility for their health and well being.
